You may have already come up with some New Year’s Resolutions that you’ve promised yourself that you will stick to. So many people fail to stick to theirs as they’re too unrealistic or they put far too much pressure on themselves, especially if they’re trying to be like everyone else. Everyone is different so everyone’s resolutions will be different. However, we have come up with 3 New Years Resolutions that you can most definitely stick to.
Listen to Yourself
One thing that I will certainly be doing this year is listening to myself. So often we push ourselves, to be productive and to not waste any time, but how often do you end up burning all your energy and crashing, not being able to do anything. Make sure to listen to your body, and mind, when they say they’re struggling. It’s okay to take some time to rest and have self-care days, however this may look to you. And it is certainly okay to say no, to anything that you really don’t want to do.
Now this is something that we probably all need to do more of. A lot of us end up spending all of our time at work or looking after everybody else. But when do you take time to pamper yourself? This could be as little as once a week, taking the time to run a hot bath with your favourite bath bombs or bath salts, lighting a candle and relaxing instead of a quick 2-minute shower. Take a book and a face mask too!
And don’t forget to treat yourself! This could look different for different people but make sure to treat yourself however you would like. This could be a bit of retail therapy every once in a while, or a trip to the hairdressers for a new look. It could even be as simple as a hot bath with a glass of wine!
